Nothing forbidden, nothing obliged;
make good wine, simply."
- Claude Giraud
ARGONNE série
Aÿ Grand Cru | Vintage | Use of new oak for vinification and aging
Named after the historical forest of
Champagne, where Henri Giraud
selects its oak trees to craft its signature oak barrels, Argonne is the
quintessential cuvée of Champagne Henri Giraud.
Only released on the best year, and
with grapes selected only from the
best parcels of Ay Grand Cru
vineyard, Argonne is vinified and
aged in new oak barrels to bring Aÿ
terroir to its ultimate expression.
MV (Multi-Vintage) série
Aÿ Grand Cru | Assemblage of vintage Champagne and Perpetual reserve
MV is born from Henri Giraud’s
commitment to lift champagne out of
the industrial rut of the 1980s. From
its first release in 1990, this iconic
cuvée set to break the consensus
and invent a whole new perspective
on champagne: terroir focused,
small yield, Pinot Noir based and
vinification in traditional small oak
casks.
PR (Perpetual Reserve) série
Assemblage of Perpetual reserves
PR90-18 is a blend of two of Henri
Giraud’s perpetual reserves – one
nourished by the 'Aÿ Grand cru Fût de
Chêne' from each vintage since 1990,
and the other by the 'Esprit Nature'.
With this, cellar master Sébastien Le
Golvet is playing with time and history
introducing a whole new dimension of
Champagne.
Identity Cuvees série
Champagne making as an art. Those
three cuvees bring the full expression of
the grapes identity through mastery of
Champagne making, a complete under
-
standing of the variety unicity, and the
use of unique techniques. Two single
grape variety, blanc de blancs and
blanc de noirs, and a rose vinified in
sandstone amphora.
Beyond Champagnes
Coteaux Champenois still wines
"Before making great Champagnes, you must know how to make great wines" - Claude Giraud.
Historically, Champagne region's still wines have been considered among the greatest in France.
Harvesting and gentle pressing of whole
bunches of grapes, Giraud revives the
ancestral know-how of the Champagne
region in making great still wines. Still wines from Henri Giraud are only produced in great vintages, when its Ay Grand Cru vineyards allow to have harvest in quantity and quality.
Ratafia Champenois fortified wines
Henri Giraud has relied on time to develop
its Ratafia Champenois: the fruitiest juices
from the best years from 1990 to 2013
were blended with Fine Champenoise and
aged in small oak barrels in Solera method.
